Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin. This week Sean McDonough, managing partner at law firm Mogers Drewett, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? Don’t Look Up.

Book you read? My youngest daughter has recently been reading The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, which she loves talking about. My knowledge of Greek mythology isn’t quite as good as my knowledge of who played for Liverpool in the 80’s, so I have been very slowly working my way through the Iliad.

Music you bought or downloaded? In terms of new stuff, I Don’t Live Here Anymore by The War on Drugs. As a trip down memory lane this week, The La’s album.

Concert or play you went to? Unbelievably, James in Bath, pre-pandemic! We have stuff in the diary for this summer.

Sporting event you attended? Other than Bath Rugby, the 2021 British Grand Prix with my son.

Holiday you went on? We had a lovely wind-swept week in Trevone, North Cornwall in February.

Restaurant you ate in? Corkage – always good.

Thing that annoyed you? Anything to do with our Tory government.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? My son (so person not thing).

Piece of good advice you were given? Be, and believe in, yourself. Not always as easy as it sounds, but very important.

Sean McDonough is the managing partner and head of the employment team at Mogers Drewett, having joined the firm 11 years ago. Originally from Liverpool, he now lives in Bath with his wife and children. When not spending time with them he tries to get out on his bike whenever he can.
