Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin. This week Steve Fuller, creative director of Bath-based purpose-driven band agency The House, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? Birdman, which I really enjoyed. It had amazing cinematography and a great soundtrack.

Book you read? Creativity, Inc. – Ed Catmull (CEO of Pixar). Highly recommend this book for anyone who needs to lead a creative business.

Music you bought or downloaded? The Revolution Begins: The Flying Dutchman Masters – Gil Scott-Heron, which I bought after reading his memoir (The Last Holiday). I knew some of his material beforehand but the song ‘I Think I’ll Call It Morning’ blew me away; he’s a remarkable person.

Concert or play you went to? Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia at The Theatre Royal, Bath. I really appreciated the way the piece celebrates women in the investigation of mathematics and science. The play reminded me of the story of Caroline Herschel.

Sporting event you attended? Bath v Wasps. A resounding victory for Bath but Wasp’s speedy backline looked impressive.

Holiday you went on? A chalet break at Rame Peninsula, Cornwall. Amazing location, real hidden gem.

Restaurant you ate in? Yammo! Italian street food café in Walcot Street. There were a couple of great dishes, especially the ones that reminded me of being in Sicily.

Thing that annoyed you? People in Bath who don’t realise how good they’ve got it.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights Live. One of the comedians that can make me laugh every time. I worked in Lancashire for a couple of years and his references still hit home if you know that part of the world.

Piece of good advice you were given? ‘There’s never a good time to start a business, there’s never a bad time to start a business’

Steve Fuller moved to Bath 21 years ago and is creative director at The House, a brand agency that builds business on purpose. Steve is a member of Bath Bridge and is a representative on the Public Services Board for BANES. He still occasionally pulls on his boots for Avon Rugby Club.
