Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the area’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin. This week Tim O’Sullivan, general manager of the new four-star Apex City of Bath Hotel, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? Lion with Dev Patel. A brilliant film with a brilliant actor.

Book you read? Black Box Thinking: The Surprising Truth About Success by Matthew Syed.

Music you bought or downloaded? Ed Sheeran’s new album Divide.

Concert or play you went to? Mamma Mia! at The Novello Theatre in London. Not my idea – I was dragged there but it was good fun and kind of enjoyed it.

Sporting event you attended? I’ve been to a couple of sporting events since moving to Bath. I went to see Bath Rugby play at The Rec for the first time and Bath won! I’ve also been to see Bath play in the Netball Super league at the University.

Holiday you went on? The Greek island of Santorini on a family holiday last year. What a beautiful place.

Restaurant you ate in? Sotto Sotto in Bath – I’ll be going back there!

Thing that annoyed you? Reality TV or any TV program with the word celebrity in the title.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? Mrs Browns Boys – I know, it’s probably best if we don’t talk about it.

Piece of good advice you were given? “Think, then speak.”. I wish I’d follow that advice. My wife walked in the other day and asked me what’s on the telly. I said “Dust!” That was a BIG mistake.

Tim O’Sullivan was appointed general manager of the £35m, 177-bedroom Apex City of Bath Hotel last November. It will be the city’s largest when it opens in August. Irish-born Tim has more than 20 years’ experience in the hotel industry and most recently held regional operations manager roles for the Premier Inn chain in the Midlands and Home Counties where he led a team of 21 general managers.
