Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on our weekly e-bulletin. This week Tom Webb, company commercial partner at law firm Mogers Drewett, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? James Bond – Spectre. I am a big fan of Daniel Craig as Bond but this one didn’t live up to the heights of Casino Royale for me.

Book you read? Life’s Too Short to Drink Bad Wine (Simon Hoggart). A hobby of mine but one I know very little about so I am in training (some reading and lots of tasting)!

Music you bought or downloaded? Titanium by David Guetta. Not exactly easy listening but very useful for upping the tempo during a boring training session on my bike

Concert or play you went to? Johnny Marr at Colston Hall

Sporting event you attended? Six Nations Rugby at the Millennium Stadium. I am a passionate Welsh rugby fan but given there has been a few tough years results wise recently and the Welsh football team’s run in the Euros, I am seriously considering a change of allegiance to football.

Holiday you went on? St Emilion, France. Beautiful area, great food, lots of terrific cycling to be had and an opportunity to do some ‘training’ for my wine education (see above)

Restaurant you ate in? Pony and Trap, Chew Magna. Whether it’s a relaxed Sunday lunch with the family or a special occasion it never fails to deliver – it’s a fantastic restaurant

Thing that annoyed you? Being asked “what was the last” numerous times and having to remember as my memory is not good!

Thing that made you laugh out loud? My children (on a daily basis).

Piece of good advice you were given? “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak” – a particularly tough one for a lawyer!

Tom Webb specialises in transactional work, largely for private companies and typically for entrepreneurial businesses. He enjoys assisting clients with strategic acquisitions and successful exits. Away from the office, sport has always played a large part of his life, although he now watches rather than plays rugby but still enjoys cycling, golf and skiing despite being awful at all three.
