Cardok UK, the Bath-based firm aiming to revolutionise parking, has agreed a distributor deal with Harrington Generators International (HGI) to provide home standby generators for its underground home car parking systems

HGI – a leading supplier of generators to the rail, defence, oil, gas and water industries – will supply 8kw and 14kw standby generators for the hydraulic car lifts and turntables in Cardok’s innovative products, which allow home owners to make more effective use of limited parking space.

HGI’s power will enable owners to gain access to their vehicles during power cuts.

The Swiss-designed Cardok can accommodate one or more cars below ground with vehicles parked on top. As well as doubling the amount of home parking space for car owners, the Cardok offers far greater security than a conventional garage.

Cardok is introducing new systems for residential and commercial parking, including a new low-cost car lift model and a multi-stacking large car park range.

Derbyshire-based HGI is a leading supplier of generators to the MoD, Network Rail and other industries where ensuring a continuous supply of power is critical.

Cardok UK’s chief executive Nick Sandy, pictured, said: “We are delighted to be working with such a respected company to ensure that our UK customers can gain access to their vehicles at all times, even when there’s a power cut.”

The Cardok is lifted by a super-efficient electro-hydraulic system which requires about the same amount of energy to operate as boiling a kettle of water.

It has been designed to lift 10 tonnes, with a safe working load of 3 tonnes per deck – slightly more than the weight of a Range Rover.
