Bath business journalist-turned-PR consultant Paul Mullins will be teaching firms how to secure valuable media exposure at a forthcoming workshop.

The founder of PR and digital content agency Sandusky Media Consultants is running his Promote your business with PR workshop at the Somer Valley Enterprise Park in Paulton on April 16.

Mr Mullins, pictured, has more than 20 years’ experience working in newspapers and public relations, having worked for the Bath Chronicle and Bristol-based PR agency Strategy Communications. He launched Sandusky in 2003 to provide affordable PR services and training to small and medium-sized enterprises.

He said: “There are few business boosts quite as valuable as positive media coverage. This practical introduction to PR will equip business owners with the essential skills needed to generate positive publicity about their business in the regional, trade and social media. The most important thing is to give journalists what they need – a story.”

The workshop will teach business owners and marketing professionals what journalists require, how to write press releases that get published and social media content that gets shared.

The half-day workshop, which runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm, costs £55 per person.
