Bath-based pioneer in cloud-managed server appliances Zynstra has been named as the Bath & Bristol region’s best technology business.

The firm, which offers small to medium-sized business remotely managed, enterprise-class IT on a pay-as-you-go basis, collected the TechCityinsider award – the latest in a series of accolades it has landed this year – at a ceremony in London last week.

The inaugural awards, designed to celebrate the UK’s best next-generation digital businesses, received nearly 200 entries.

It follows a year-long tour of the key technology clusters around the country by TechCityinsider, a digital platform for next generation digital businesses, when it met and interviewed regional tech business leaders.

In making their decisions, the judges were looking for companies that are the most innovative and likely to succeed.

The award comes hot on the heels of Zynstra’s success in the UK IT Industry Awards, where it landed the Infrastructure Innovation of the Year title. The firm, based in Bath’s Innovation Centre, was also shortlisted for Cloud Services Vendor of the Year at the CRN Channel Awards.

CEO Nick East said: “We are proud of our South West heritage and to be involved in helping drive the region’s reputation as a growing and successful technical hub.

“For us, this award – along with our other recent wins – reflects the hard work and talent of our team and demonstrates to the market that the South West is a driving force in innovation for the tech industry.

“This is certainly a great way to end the year and we look forward to another successful year in 2016.”
