Bath’s recently opened Ludo Sports Bar & Kitchen has become the official sports bar of Bath Rugby after signing an agreement with the club.
Under the partnership, the bar, pictured, will screen all Bath’s matches, except those on PRTV Live due to Premiership Rugby licensing conditions.
It will also display the club’s iconic blue, black and white colours on matchdays, when season ticket holders and club members will be able to get a 20% discount on all food and drink.
The bar, next to Bath Spa railway station, opened in the summer as the first of a chain of premium sports bars across the West County under the Ludo Sports Bar & Kitchen brand.
It had previously operated as a Graze restaurant, owned by St Austell Brewery.
In April St Austell signed a joint venture with the directors of London-based bar and restaurant group ETM to launch the Ludo chain.
The firms describe the Ludo concept as “more than just your typical sports bar”.
The Bath venue has more than 30 large HD screens showing a range of sports as well as a state-of-the-art sound system that “immerses customers into the heart of the action”.
It combines these with “high-quality dining, an impressive drinks menu and incredible views of the city from its two rooftop terraces”.
Ludo said the partnership with Bath Rugby would create an environment where players, members, season ticket holders and supporters could come together to cheer on their team.
Ludo Sports Bar & Kitchen chief executive officer Ed Martin said: “We are truly honoured to be the official sports bar of Bath Rugby.
“With the city having such a profound heritage and affinity with the game of rugby union and the Blue, Black and White’s being so iconic in the sporting world, we are immensely proud of our partnership.
“We very much look forward to working closely with the team, welcoming members and supporters to our beautiful venue to watch Bath Rugby on our giant screens.”
Bath Rugby head of business development Tom Giles added: “The Bath Rugby matchday is like no other, so to be able to extend this into the city centre and offer supporters a place to come together and enjoy pre and post-match is incredibly exciting for us here at the club.
“Ludo Sports Bar & Kitchen is a unique venue and we trust its team to offer our supporters a great experience.”
Earlier this month St Austell acquired The Bath Pub Co, adding The Marlborough Tavern, The Locksbrook Inn, The Moorfields and The Hare & Hounds to its 180-strong portfolio and bringing its number of pubs in Bath to eight.
It took over Graze in 2016 through its 2016 acquisition of Bath Ales, a deal that also included its brewery in Warmley and a local distribution network along with city pubs The Hop Pole and The Salamander. It later it added The Swan and The Griffin.
