Boson Media has won the contract to provide Frome Town Council with a new content management system to deliver important local and tourist information via its website www.frome-tc.gov.uk.

Boson, based in Bradford-on-Avon, worked with the council to develop a bespoke, easy-to-use system that gives its in-house team full control of content.

The council had previously relied on third parties to update information on its site, often resulting in delays and additional cost. Now the site can be updated with a few simple clicks.

Powered by Boson’s software, the council website provides local residents with news, events and community information via text, imagery and video. The site also encompasses the previous tourist information website, giving visitors details of where to stay, eat, drink and visit in Frome and the surrounding areas.

Council office manager Anji Whittamore said: “We needed a simple, efficient and effective CMS that council staff could be trained to use quickly. It was important that we reduced our dependency on external providers for website changes and information updates.”

Boson managing director Richard Anderson added: “Frome Town Council’s website provides an important service to the local community. We’re delighted to have played our part in making it easier and more cost-effective for the council to reach their audience.”
